Another ASOS find! I told you guys I was obsessed!. This off-the-shoulder black fitted dress has been my go-to LBD. And you can dress it up with the right jewelry for more of a cocktail look - and one that is super cheap! This cotton dress is only $41!! (I know, that was my reaction too!) Off-the-shoulder is probably one of my favorite trends this season and there’s something about it that makes you feel sexy (important for a pregnant woman when there’s not a lot that makes you feel that way!). I also like that it hits just below the knee so you’re not showing too much skin. When you’re looking for a fitted maternity dress, opt for one with ruching that gathers around your bump because it’s more flattering and gives you that extra room to grow throughout the pregnancy. Complete the look with some statement drop earrings and heeled mules. I love my Marion Parke’s and can wear these heels all night long without my feet hurting! They’re a dream! And they're now available for purchase online! Get $50 off your first purchase. Yay! Check it out: www.MarionParke.com

I'm finally at the stage where I'm starting to show and feel a lot more convertible in a fitted dress. People are even giving me their seat on the subway! It's really happening! The key has been to find longer dresses (since I'm already tall and the bump makes them shorter) and of course a stretchy material so my bump can grow. I discovered this super cute and affordable maternity brand, Pink Blush Maternity, that I really love. Most of the dresses are in the $45-$65 range! Woo hoo! Everything is really on trend and I like that the clothes are great even if you're not pregnant. For instance, they have off the shoulder dresses (huge spring trend right now) which are adorable. When I started to make investments in my maternity wardrobe, I figured you can't go wrong with a fitted black dress. I like that this one has a lace detail, goes right below my knee and has sleeves to my elbows (making it very flattering, plus I feel less pale!). For the chillier days, it's the perfect transitional spring dress that I can easily layer with a jean jacket and pair with pointed toe strappy heels. And you can really dress it up or down with statement jewelry or flat sandals for a casual look. Now I just need to work on my "pregnancy photo stance!" Haha! I honestly feel a little awkward and not sure if I'm holding my bump in the right place?! I'm working on it! :)

Also...I have some exciting news!! I'm doing a $75 giveaway with Pink Blush Maternity! So head on over to my Instagram for all the details and a chance to win!! Good luck! Link to my Instagram: @laurakperkins

Leather has been a hot trend this year so what better way to modernize your Little Black Dress than with a chic leather LBD. I recently found this faux leather dress at Zara. Doesn't it look real?! It's pretty thermal too! Might not have been my best idea for Florida weather a few weeks ago but I will definitely be getting a lot of wear out of this in New York. I think it will be my go-to for holiday parties. Just add some sparkly jewelry and I'm all set. I'm really loving short sleeve dresses right now. Not only are they appropriate for fall but they are very slimming for your arms (no workout required!). Plus they help me to feel less pale! I also like the fit and flare shape of this dress because I think it tones down the sexy leather vibe with a fun, girlie feel.

Styling tip: To accessorize a simple black dress, try statement heels or a bold jewelry piece like a cuff, chunky necklace or standout earrings.
