This blog is inspired by and in honor of my dear friend, Sunday Ibok. The first time I met Sunday, he told me I was wearing fabulous shoes. This initial encounter with him also involved a pretty epic dance party. I knew immediately we'd be good friends. He used to walk into a room and start singing "Single Ladies" and whether it was the two of us or a large group, we'd be dancing within seconds. Sunday knew how to make you feel special. We would talk for hours about fashion. And if we weren't talking about style, we'd talk about God. Sunday was a man with such a grateful spirit about him. No matter how tough life was for him, he'd always say, "But God is good. And He is faithful." Sunday taught me to be more thankful, praising God when things weren't going my way. He showed me how to be a good friend, how to love others well. He was such a good friend to so many people that at his memorial service in September 2011, there were over 500 friends in attendance. He didn't just touch my life. He touched hundreds. And he will not be forgotten.

Sunday loved fashion. No matter what he was doing or where he was going, the man looked good. And he knew it. :) He would dress up just for life. He used to sign his name YSB "Your Sunday Best." At his memorial service, we were all encouraged to wear "Your Sunday Best" to honor him. That phrase, that idea, that way of life, has stuck with our community. We'll often have "Attire: Your Sunday Best" written on party invitations.

To say he is missed is an understatement. Sometimes I look through old emails and gchats and just start crying. I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 years. Oh how I wish we could just sit and talk about what God’s doing in our lives and encourage one another. I think about the stories I would tell him of some of my experiences working in fashion. I wish I could take him with me as my shopping buddy, gawk over new trends together or have him help me dress my husband! I wish he and I were doing this blog together. But I know that he is with me and he’s proud of me.

I am in no way an expert, but like Sunday, I enjoy sharing style ideas/fashion advice with my friends. I think this can be a good platform to do that. My hope is that this blog brings him and all of you much joy.
